Purpose of the position
The Director C&I Solutions is responsible for the development of SMAs Commercial and Industrial business within the designated markets. He or she is managing, developing and maintaining positive key business partnerships and stakeholder relationships in the different markets, in line with segment market priorities.
The scope of responsibility in this position includes the C&I solar, storage and EV charging portfolio (Hardware, Software, Services) with current and future business models
Manages sales, revenue generation, business and partner development of the Commercial & Industrial segment within the designated markets in the region, in strong interaction with the global C&I business responsible and the regional management team.
Ensures collection and analysis of regional market data to derive requirements and strategic implications for the segment development in the region
Designs and implements regional strategic segment plans and initiatives along the global C&I segment strategy and positioning as a complete solution provider to achieve the agreed business targets
Manages financial performance, KPIs and Forecast (accuracy) for the designated markets
Develops a thorough understanding of the different direct and indirect existing and potential customer groups including targeted C&I end customer verticals
Steers the successful placement of the C&I solution portfolio through existing and new sales channels and multiplicators (multi-channel approach)
Develops long lasting industry relationships by interacting and communicating with key customers, stakeholders and partners on a regular basis
Develops and implements a mindset of customer centricity and end-2-end perspective within the team and leads staff to improve customer experience and achieve local segment targets.
Collaborates with Marketing and Sales Enablement in terms of messaging to local markets, value selling and consistent use of sales tools (e.g. SalesForce)
Reporting to the VP C&I Solutions Western & Southern Europe
Qualifications & Requirements
Requires tertiary qualifications (Business or Engineering) with a keen affinity for technical products
7 years of experience in sales or business development and sound knowledge of the Renewable Energy Industry
Experience developing and managing in an industrial company within a matrix function, preferably in a multifunctional environment within the renewable energy sector or similar industries.
Experience in initiating, negotiating and closing contracts and managing successful relationships with customers as well as business partners
Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills as well as emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to motivate, build trust, gain support, and instill accountability in line with SMA’values and leadership principles, including with external partners.
Excellent communication skills as well as intercultural competence
Highly customer and success-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to roll up his or her sleeves and act with a problem-solving mindset.
High willingness to travel internationally.
Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, is required. Italian, French, Spanish are a plus.

We are looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for the entire back office of the Marketing department in Benelux, focusing on managing our training center and creating content for our social media channels.
- You manage the “SMA Solar Academy”, our training center (setting up program, registration of courses, training materials, support promotion of the courses, …), in collaboration with the Marketing Director, the Segment Manager and trainers
- You are responsible for the budget of equipment, renting location, catering, print material
- You report on the key performance metrics and maintain quarterly metrics reports on training activities and customer survey across the Western European region
- You are responsible for the creation and posting of our daily "social media posts", the monitoring of the community and internal communication
- You communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
- You are responsible for following up and processing customer references (testimonials), coordinating promotional videos
- You are responsible for managing marketing assets, including the maintenance and online portal, and lending them to customers.
- You support all members of the marketing team with various marketing tasks (f.e. manage goodies platform)
- You coordinate the organization of the HQ visit for customers
- Minimum a bachelor degree in communication, marketing or similar qualifications
- At least 1 year experience in a marketing, sales or commercial function preferably in a B2B environment
- Excellent knowledge of Dutch, English (written and spoken), good knowledge of French

SMA Benelux is looking for its future "Senior Expert Photovoltaics and Standardization" for the Western Europe region (Benelux, UK, France). The position is based in Mechelen, Belgium.

Based in Mechelen, SMA Benelux is a subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG in Kassel (Germany).
Since 2009, SMA Benelux has been located in Mechelen (Belgium). From there, the Service departments support all Benelux customers.
You are responsible to shape the local market conditions to gain a sustainable competitive advantage for SMA in the region.
You take up a leading role (chair, convenor) in Expert Level Discussions.
You are responsible to identify, define, influence, and contribute to norms, standards, codes, guidelines, rules, reports and handbooks.
You actively engage with industry associations (Solar, Finance, Insurance, Construction, Safety/Fire), power grid operators, technical working groups, committees, panels and councils to pursue your goals.
You drive the gathering of product and customer requirements for new and modified features of SMA solutions and provide suitable interpretation of such requirements to SMA for use in future product development. You maintain a high-level understanding of all local grid codes, regulations, and their application.
You cooperate and align closely with the local SMA Strategic Consultant and our local sales, service, and applications engineering team in the region. You maintain strong ties with the subject matter experts at SMA-HQ and throughout the world for strategic direction and for support with the details of the topics at hand.
You report to the local Managing Director. You provide management level summaries of important meetings. You assess the impact of current activities and future developments in the region on SMA’s business, in cooperation with respective experts at SMA HQ in Technology, Business Units, Sales and Marketing.
What qualifications are required?
You have a degree in engineering or business administration with a strong technical background. Alternatively, a high-level technical training including qualified additional training within the PV industry with good business knowledge.
You have at least five (5) to ten (10) years of professional experience in sales, service, business development, product management, or technical consulting, ideally in the field of PV or electrical storage systems.
You have experience in the involvement with local associations and working groups.
You have a winning personality, with strong communication and networking skills.
You bring an excellent customer orientation, good technical consulting competence and strong commitment.
You have strong analytical and strategic analysis capabilities.
You have the willingness to travel extensively, work independently, actively align with a network of colleagues internationally.
You have excellent command of the LOCAL LANGUAGE (Dutch/French) and you are fluent in English. German is considered a plus.
