We are seeking a high-caliber Key Account Manager to drive the adoption of our portfolio across the most complex utility-scale projects in Benelux (start-up).

This is a strategic, revenue-generating role where your commercial expertise will directly influence the success of large-scale power generators and businesses worldwide.

The Mandate: Commercial Strategy & Execution

Reporting to the Director Large Scale Benelux, your goal is to secure long-term, high-value customer relationships and generate substantial revenue by deploying the full SMA portfolio—including solar, storage, and grid solutions—to Investors, EPCs, direct customers, and developers.

I. Advanced Global Account Management

You will serve as the strategic interface for your allocated customer portfolio.

  • Revenue Stewardship: Guarantee existing turnover and strategically realize additional turnover within commercial guidelines.

  • Need Identification: Proactively identify and monitor sophisticated customer needs across their project pipeline.

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate closely with the international sales team and HQ product management to manage global accounts and align commercial strategy with technical roadmaps.

II. Strategic Business Development & Closing

You possess the analytical mindset and negotiation talent required to execute complex, multi-million-euro transactions.

  • Deal Negotiation: Lead negotiations, conclude contracts related to price agreements, and prepare offers within a defined price margin.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct comparative analysis of competitive solutions and rigorously monitor market trends to identify new customers and commercial opportunities.

  • Sales Process Mastery: Manage the entire order process end-to-end, and develop strategies to continuously improve and expand the sales process and overall business.

III. Full-Spectrum Project Integration

You act as the commercial conduit, ensuring smooth project flow from bid to execution.

  • Tender Support: Provide core commercial support to tender developers and project developers, analyzing sales results to inform our participation in major bids.

  • Quotation Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Back office assistant on quotation preparation and technical sales support for large projects.

  • Customer Advocacy: Interface directly with Customer Service to guarantee optimal post-sales support.

Your Profile: The Strategic Sales Architect

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economical Sciences, Electro-Mechanics, Electronics, or equivalent.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of external experience specifically within a technical Sales environment.

  • Core Competencies: Proven talent in negotiation, results-orientation, analytical thinking, and a dedicated External Customer Focus.

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency (written & spoken) in Dutch, English, and French is an asset. Proficiency in German is a significant advantage.

  • Technical Tools: Experience with Salesforce is a strong plus.

Based in Mechelen, SMA Benelux is a subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology. We are looking for an Application Engineer for the Residential segment. This position will provide technical support for the preparation of quotations in the pre-design phase. She/he will offer both the account managers and the customers a direct answer to their technical questions and will play a central role in maintaining the relationship with the customer. The application engineer will provide training in the residential segment as part of our Solar Academy.

Main missions

  • Support for customers for technical questions about existing or future products and/or services mainly in the residential segment.
  • Preparation of pre-design and material lists for drawing up quotations
  • Informing customers proactively about product changes
  • Maintain network technical contact points at customers
  • Building up knowledge about existing and new products and solutions
  • Internal contact point for product knowledge
  • Proactively communicate new items/innovations within the product portfolio for the BU Residential.
  • Offer support in the realization of residential projects (kick-off meeting, analysis of specifications, proposal, planning, etc.).
  • Provide training and support/back up for the Solar Academy training courses
  • Preparation of complex quotations
  • Management of technical files in SalesForce

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in Electro-technics, civil or industrial engineering or similar qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a technical environment
  • Fluent in Dutch and English. Good knowledge of French, German is a plus

Technische Support & Diagnoses

  • Ondersteuning bieden via telefoon, ticketing en chat
  • Problemen diagnosticeren met betrekking tot PV‑omvormers, hybride omvormers, batterijsystemen en EV‑laders
  • Systeembedrag analyseren via PV‑productiegrafieken, energiestroomdiagrammen, SoC‑curves, logs en foutcodes
  • Installateurs begeleiden tijdens de ingebruikname, configuratie en parameterinstellingen

Connectiviteit & Communicatie

  • Assisteren bij Wi‑Fi/Ethernet/RS485‑communicatieproblemen
  • Klanten ondersteunen met cloudportalen, monitoringapps, datalogging en firmware

Documentatie & Samenwerking

  • Alle acties registreren in Salesforce
  • Troubleshooting‑gidsen en kennisbankartikelen creëren of updaten
  • Samenwerken met onze Duitse engineeringteams voor complexe escalaties

Vereiste vaardigheden & kwalificaties

We zoeken iemand die technisch sterk staat en comfortabel is met een grote hoeveelheid technische informatie.

Talen

  • Vloeiend Engels + Nederlands en/of Frans (spreken & schrijven)

Technische kennis

  • Goede kennis van elektrische basisprincipes (AC/DC), PV‑productie, opbrengstcurves en batterijgedrag
  • Vermogen om:
    • grafieken, logs en systeemdata te interpreteren
    • PV-, hybride‑ en opslagsystemen te troubleshooten
    • communicatieprotocollen te begrijpen
  • Een diploma in elektrotechniek, IT, engineering of gelijkwaardige ervaring
  • Ervaring in technische helpdesk, field engineering of ondersteuning binnen hernieuwbare energie is een sterke plus

About the Role

As Senior Solution Manager Digital Services, you will own and shape the digital service portfolio, ensuring customer value, adoption, compliance, and profitability through clear positioning, pricing, and execution. You will play a key role in developing and scaling digital services that support residential and commercial energy solutions.

This is a strategic and cross-functional leadership role for an experienced professional with a strong background in digital services, solution management, monetization models, and customer-centric innovation.

Your Responsibilities

Digital Service Portfolio Ownership

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for assigned digital services throughout their lifecycle — from launch and growth to scaling, operations, and deprecation.
  • Ensure stable operations, high customer satisfaction, and profitable service performance.
  • Define and steer the digital service strategy, roadmap, and priorities in alignment with the broader segment and solution strategy.
  • Manage services such as extended warranties, energy management solutions, and other digital offerings for residential and commercial customers as well as installers.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and dashboards covering adoption, engagement, conversion, upsell, retention/churn, operational costs, and profitability.

Service Strategy, Pricing & Monetization

  • Design customer journeys, pricing structures, and monetization models including subscriptions, feature bundles, attach/upsell strategies, and discount logic.
  • Develop and maintain business cases and profitability analyses for new services and major enhancements.
  • Recommend investments and roadmap priorities based on business impact and P&L contribution.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and legal teams to align pricing models and commercial conditions.
  • Ensure implementation readiness across operational processes, systems, and customer touchpoints.

Customer, Market & Competitive Insights

  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research initiatives including customer interviews, surveys, field feedback, usage analytics, and funnel analysis.
  • Translate insights into customer problems, Jobs-To-Be-Done, segmentation strategies, and prioritized requirements.
  • Monitor market developments and competitor activities to identify opportunities, risks, and differentiation potential.
  • Drive customer-centric innovation and continuously optimize the value proposition.

Cross-Functional Execution & Go-to-Market Enablement

  • Lead cross-functional feedback loops in close collaboration with Sales, Solution Portfolio, Solution Development, UX, and Operations teams.
  • Ensure successful launch readiness including positioning, messaging, enablement materials, training, and operational setup.
  • Support internal stakeholders with clear communication, strategic storytelling, and business-oriented decision proposals.

Your Profile

Education

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or a comparable qualification combined with relevant professional experience.

Professional Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, Solution Management, or Portfolio Management within telecommunications, utilities, IoT, software, SaaS, or digital services environments.
  • Ideally experienced in hardware-enabled digital services.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing monetization models including subscriptions, bundles, upsell/cross-sell approaches, and pricing logic.
  • Experience translating commercial concepts into operational processes and systems such as billing, entitlement management, CRM, and ERP.
  • Strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative customer research and analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform insights into profitable and scalable value propositions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present strategies, roadmaps, and business cases to senior leadership and C-level stakeholders.
